Eric DeMar Head Coach

Coach
Eric DeMar has had a love for swimming since he was a little boy. Growing up in
North Dakota, he has always been aware of the need to be able to be safe in the
water. He has always enjoyed swimming and finds it a great form of relaxation
for himself. Through his involvement on the swim team, as a swimmer and as a coach,
He has learned the various aspects of swimming which allows
him to have a broader picture of what it takes to succeed.
His primary
focus is the Senior Teams. His approach to coaching is multi-faceted. He
stresses stroke technique, strength and conditioning, and a psychological
mind-set for competitive swimming. He is a veteran of the United States Marine
Corps and holds a B. Ed (cum laude) from Jamestown College in North Dakota, and
a Masters in Exercise Science (summa) from the University of South Dakota
(Vermillion). He has had the honor to swim at nearly every level of competition
available from age-group to international levels. Coach DeMar has been coaching
for 8 years and is currently the Amarillo Caprock High and Amarillo Palo Duro
High swimming coach.
The 2007-2008
season is his fifth season with our team. Eric is ASCA Member Certified at Level 2 and has passed the educational requirement for Level 3.
